Construction Materials Testing Lab/Field Technician (South Florida)

GCES Engineering Services, LLC (GCES) is currently seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician for our Hialeah Gardens (Miami) operation. The individual will assist in performing materials testing procedures of soils, concrete, and asphalt in the field and laboratory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Soils - performs in-place density tests by nuclear method, moisture density (Proctor) tests, Limerock Bearing Ration (LBR) sieve analysis tests, and samples soils
• Concrete - samples and performs air content and slump tests on concrete, casts and compressive strength of concrete, mortar and grout test specimens
• Asphalt - perform density tests and obtain asphalt cores

This position is full time, minimum 40 hours per week, however based on the candidate experience, hours can and will vary per week. The position will typically require work to be performed on weekdays between 6am and 7pm however occasional night and weekend work should be anticipated.

ACI and CTQP Certifications are "Required". The technician will be responsible for creating detailed reports of all testing performed. Basic math skills are required such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The work requires the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, kneel, stoop, and crouch. The work environment for this position is mostly outdoors.
