Winson WTP Water Storage Tanks
North Miami Beach, FL
Recommendations included ground improvement site preparations to improve the existing soil conditions. These recommendations would allow the use of shallow foundations for the tanks and keep predicted tank foundation settlements to acceptable levels.
North Cruise Blvd. Extension Phase III Fly-Over Bridge
Alternate foundation recommendations were provided for the bridge structure including recommendations for spread footings, driven piles, drilled shafts and auger cast piles (ACP). Despite of few cases of bridge structures supported on ACP foundations in South Florida, ACP was selected due to its high load carrying capacity, high installation rate, low noise and vibration level, and economic cost.
Murphy Gas Stations
Several Location, FL
During the construction of Murphy Gas Stations throughout South Florida, GCES provided field and laboratory testing, from concrete, soil and structural fill, to masonry, structural steel, pavement and other specialized materials. We use our field expertise to observe and monitor construction and installation of materials and building systems.
Dolphin Station Park And Ride
Transit Terminal Facility
Our review of literature, aerials and evaluation resulted in identifying the presence of trash and debris piles at the site. This unfavorable condition was recognized prior to construction and procedures were considered to minimize the impact of the miscellaneous fill materials for support of planned structures and infrastructure components. Our services were extended to monitor earthwork operations and observed the removal of miscellaneous fill materials until reaching the natural soil/rock formation. Structural Steel Inspections were provided for the canopies and sign structures.
